As part of the CRC 806 project on “Materiality and Agency”, I’m organising a conference on “Gestures and Artefacts: Diachronic Perspectives on Embodiment and Technology” together with my colleagues Alexander Gerner, Niklas Grouls, and Johannes Schick. It will take place at Thyssen Foundation on November 29 – December 1.
A call for papers within a pre-conference PhD day will come out soon!
Thanks to the great effort of my dear colleague Prof. Dr. Takuya Nakamura, my latest book (“Verkörperte Intersubjektivität und Empathie”) was translated into Japanese and will soon be published by Hosei University Press.
On occasion of the book release, I’ll be giving a talk at Doshisha University in Kyoto on October 26.
From October 18–20, we’re organising the Husserl-Arbeitstage 2018 at the Husserl Archives Cologne. There will be an interesting programme with more than 20 international speakers, including this year’s Husserl Lecture by Prof. Dr. Hans Rainer Sepp (Charles University Prague).
A recent interview with Fritz Breithaupt, Hans-Ludwig Kröber and myself on the topic of “Compassion and Cruelty: The Dark Side of Empathy” has now been published by Deutschlandfunk. Listen/read here!
The results of the collaborations within my research project “Visibility, Embodiment, and Empathy” at the Mahindra Humanities Center, Harvard University, will be published as a special issue of Human Studies.
