Our Scientific Network “Understanding Others – Integration of Social Cognitive and Affective Processes“, which is coordinated by Dana Schneider and Olga Klimecki (University of Jena), has received funding from the DFG for the next two years! I’m thrilled to be part of this group.
Looking forward to the third round of our Cologne Summer School of Interdisciplinary Anthropology, a DAAD-funded training programme for international PhD and Master students, taking place @ a.r.t.e.s. (September 18–23). This year’s topic is “Cognition”.

Starting January 2018, there is an open PhD position in Philosophy within my research project “Materiality and Agency: New Paradigms in the Study of Human Development, Culture, and Cognition”. This project is part of the Collaborative Research Centre 806 “Our Way to Europe: Culture-Environment Interaction and Human Mobility in the Late Quaternary” at the University of Cologne.

I’m delighted to be invited for a visiting professorship at the Centre for Intercultural Studies at the University of Mainz in the winter semester 2017/18!
The results of the collaborations within my research project “Visibility, Embodiment, and Empathy” at the Mahindra Humanities Center, Harvard University, will be published as a special issue of Human Studies.
