From October 12 – 16, 2022, the second DFG Symposium in Philosophy will take place at the Villa Vigoni on the Lago di Como in Northern Italy. I’m already looking forward to a week of intense discussion and presenting some ideas on the relationship between imagination and narration as modes of understanding.
Together with my colleague Sebastian Luft as the main initiator, I co-organize an international Summer School on Classical and Contemporary German Philosophy, from June 19–26, 2022, at the University of Cologne. Looking forward to a week of lectures and intensive discussion with students from Marquette and Cologne Universities.
On June 6, 2022, I co-organise the international conference “Perceiving Together” on topics of perception, joint attention, collective intentionality, and other issues, at the University of Cologne. Happy to be spending April 2022 in Montréal as a visiting scholar at the Centre canadien d’études allemandes et européennes (CCEAE) by invitation of my colleague Maxime Doyon.
Happy to announce that we have been granted a two-year research project on “The Role of Transcultural Semantics and Symbols for Resilience During the Corona Pandemic – A Hermeneutic Approach to Historical and Intercultural Expressions of Severe Crisis” by the Volkswagen Foundation. I am looking forward to collaborating with Cornelia Richter (Bonn) and Judith Gärtner (Rostock) on this topic!
